3. Competitive positioning: When competitors are mentioned in the same answer, how are you positioned relative to them? Are you described as the budget option, the enterprise choice, the developer-friendly tool?

4. Prompt coverage: How many of your target use cases trigger a mention? "Best feedback widget for Vue.js" should mention you. "How do I collect user feedback without annoying users?" should too. Mapping your coverage across prompt categories reveals gaps.

How to Monitor It Today (Without a Dedicated Tool)

You don't need a specialized product to start tracking AI visibility. A simple spreadsheet and 30 minutes per week gets you further than most competitors.

Step 1: Build your prompt library. Write 20-30 prompts that represent how your ideal customers ask AI assistants for help. Include broad queries ("best SaaS feedback tools"), narrow ones ("feedback widget for Next.js app"), and comparison queries ("compare Canny vs Featurebase vs Palmframe").

Competitor response: If a competitor starts getting mentioned favorably in a context where you should be winning, you can investigate what changed and respond. Did they publish a definitive guide? Land a tech press mention? Update their product and get reviewed?

Partnership signals: If a complementary tool is frequently mentioned alongside you, that's a natural partnership candidate. If they're mentioned and you're not, that's a gap to close.
